Pattaya has a myriad of entertainment events throughout the year, sporting, musical, cultural, and culinary. Everything and anything can be celebrated in Pattaya, and often is.
Pattaya Events keep their fingers on the pulse of what is going on in this great entertainment capital of Thailand, and if you are visiting in the future keep abreast of our blog pages so know what is going on and when.
Coming up in January 2018 is a fantastic sporting occasion, and if you love boxing this event is for you. Boxing Promotions & Pick a Window Promotions present White Collar Boxing.
Thepprasit Stadium is the venue for the evening, it is quite fitting that this stadium has been chosen for this amateur event as it is a low key stadium that normally hosts Muay Thai. It is really popular with locals, and is really easy to get to being opposite the Night Market on Thepprasit Road.
It is actually the oldest stadium in Pattaya and opened over a decade ago to honour Muay Thai. It is a simplistic stadium holding around five hundred people on rudimentary seats. There is a roof over the ring and seating but there are no walls or any air conditioning.
This will be the third White Collar Boxing event that has been flown under the banner, White Collar Warrior, and is expected to be as successful as its two previous events.
The whole evening’s entertainment is held to provide funds for local Pattaya charities, and organisers, fighters and promoters give all their services for free. In the past the charities that have benefitted from this event have been, Hand to Hand, The Father Ray Foundation, Baan Jing Jai, and the Autistic Thai Foundation Pattaya.
Any fairly competent boxer may apply to compete, and for some of the boxers it is the first time in the ring.
This year the event has a special guest attending, non other than Frank Bruno who will be watching all the action on the night.
Frank Bruno is one of the most loved British heavyweight boxers that have ever been. His career spanned from 1982 to 1996 and to say the least was really eventful. He won the WBC heavyweight title and the European title during his successful career.
Perhaps his two famous fights were when he faced up to world champion Mike Tyson and the gruelling bout with fellow Brit Lennox Lewis. His WBC title was in 1995 when he defeated the then champion Oliver McCall in Wembley Stadium.
Famed for his powerful punching power, the much loved Frank Bruno was a match for anybody on his day.
So don’t miss the opportunity for a chance meeting to meet Frank when you attend a marvelous night of boxing at the White Collar boxing event in Pattaya.
